Steve is among the newer glass blower artists in Iowa. His interest evolved years ago after observing a glass blower in Madison, Wisconsin.
Over a decade ago Steve became a full-time glass blower. Through dedicated study and experimentation Steve established his deep knowledge and creative skill in glass art.
Steve was awarded First and Second Places at the Iowa Stat Fair’s Fine Art Competition. He has exhibited in several juried art fairs throughout the Midwest.
“The intent for my work is to show a connection with nature. I’m interested in color and texture. The shapes I create matter with the colors and textures I apply. That does matter to me. I also try to inject a bit of humor whenever I can.”
