Robert Campagna, Photography
Abbe Creek Gallery Co-Owner
Bob is a fine art photographer whose passion is traditional black and white printmaking in the darkroom. Utilizing digital images, he also designs and publishes books, calendars and notecards.
Beginning in 1976, Bob became a self-taught artist and educator. To that end he assembled a massive photo library through which he studies the works of other renowned artists, including photographers Ansel Adams, Paul Strand, Alfred Steiglitz, and Margaret Bourke-White. With that background he established his artistic style and honed technical skill.
As an educator Bob has created over 600 photography workshops in 8 states and 2 other nations, teaching over 13,000 students.
“Photography both documents and interprets my life experience. I seek to know the moment of serendipity. Black and white photography brings forth form, texture, shadow, reflection, and feeling. It is always magic to see images unfold in the darkroom. It touches immortality. It is the dance of my mind’s eye.”
