Lauren is an emerging artist whose bold color and mark-making create vibrant, heavily layered compositions. She holds a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and studied at Osaka University of Arts in Japan. Her work has appeared in murals, group and solo exhibitions across Eastern Iowa and the Twin Cities. She has been teaching workshops on various art techniques for over 10 years. She enjoys sharing new skills with others.
“I’m drawn to the meditative process of painting. Inspired by weather, erosion, and the changing world, my work reflects natural forces over time.
I often utilize and am inspired by found ephemera in nature, from mushrooms, which I create spore prints, to animal bones which I either incorporate or use as references while painting.”
