Nancy Lindsay, Painter
Stone City, Iowa
Nancy Lindsay was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Art has always been Nancy’s primary interest, even as a young child. Her paintings can be found in many corporate and residential settings and in the permanent collections of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Dubuque Museum of Art, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Waterloo Museum of Art, and Iowa State University President’s home.
“As an oil painter for more than 50 years, the landscape has been my guiding theme. Most of my canvases are created in my studio, but I am also inspired to work en plein air, where the direct experience of landscape can be freely and directly interpreted. For the viewer, I hope to convey the beauty of the natural world with an atmosphere of warmth.
Impressionism has been an influence on me, but my style is my own. Most of my work portrays my surrounding environment; rich with rolling hills, dramatic river valleys and towering trees.”
