Katrina Garner, Painting
Mount Vernon, Iowa
A native North Carolinian, Katrina moved to Iowa in 1994 and was immediately captivated by the beauty of its rolling hills and black, fertile soil.
She became involved in the local arts community, helped to found the Mount Vernon Area Arts Council, and participated in the creation of The Lincoln Highway Arts Festival and Chalk the Walk. Her friendship with local artists led to an exposure to a variety of artistic styles and media. Her primary mediums are water-soluble oil paints and pastel. Her primary subject matter is landscapes.
“I am fortunate to find myself now ‘planted’ in a place of great natural beauty, with unlimited potential for my growth as an artist.”
